Edge of Table Mountain

A commanding mountain formation rises against a vivid blue sky, its dark rocky slopes rendered with bold gestural strokes. Verdant vegetation in shades of green, yellow and ochre clothes the lower reaches, whilst warmer tones suffuse the foreground. The composition balances geological weight with atmospheric luminosity, employing the artist’s characteristic impressionistic approach. Van Rensburg’s transition to oil on canvas represents a natural evolution from his earlier acrylic studies of landscape.
