Green girls Skipping

Two silhouetted figures of girls skip in unison, their forms rendered in cut steel with intricate patterned detail. Connected by looped ropes held aloft, they occupy a composed space above a darkened base adorned with lotus motifs. The work captures a moment of childhood play through elegant linear form, the green steel creating a striking contrast against the deep blue plinth. Portchie’s three-dimensional sculptures translate the simple joy of figures in motion into steel, extending the artist’s exploration of playful scenes beyond painting.
