(c) White daisy

A single white daisy occupies the centre of this vertical composition, its bloom rendered with delicate precision against a deep, richly coloured ground that shifts from purple through blue to black. The flower’s slender stem extends the full height of the narrow canvas, creating an almost meditative verticality. Executed in acrylic on stretched canvas, the work demonstrates Portchie’s characteristic ability to distil natural beauty into a moment of quiet contemplation, inviting the viewer into an intimate encounter with the subject.
