Houses in a landscape

Two modest dwellings sit anchored in a vibrant landscape beneath a dramatic, colour-saturated sky. Le Roux employs bold, gestural brushwork to animate the composition, layering warm oranges, reds and yellows against cooler greens and purples. The houses—rendered in pale tones—provide a quiet counterpoint to the turbulent natural surroundings. Working in acrylic on canvas, the artist channels the emotional intensity and visual contrasts inherent in the South African landscape.
