Harvesters

A group of harvesters works across an expansive, undulating landscape rendered in warm, earthy tones. The figures bend and labour amongst golden fields beneath a dramatic sky, their forms simplified yet purposeful. Niemann employs loose, gestural brushwork to convey both the physicality of agricultural work and the vastness of the terrain. The composition balances intimate human activity with panoramic natural setting. Oil on board allows the artist to build rich colour relationships characteristic of his self-taught practice informed by close study of established painters.
