Road to Grand Bay

A sailboat on luminous turquoise water frames the composition through a vibrant archway of flowering trees and foliage. Le Roux employs bold, gestural brushwork to depict the landscape with expressionistic energy, layering orange, red and pink blooms against deep blues and greens. The scene captures a moment of serene passage—both literal and metaphorical—rendered in acrylic with characteristic chromatic intensity. Created in 2023, the work exemplifies le Roux’s celebrated approach to landscape painting, where courageous colour use conveys profound feeling.
