Eland

A vertical composition depicting an eland rendered with gestural brushwork and bold colour application. The antelope stands frontally, its distinctive spiral horns rising prominently, rendered in warm ochres and yellows against a cool blue ground. Streaks of red, purple and black energise the composition, creating movement across the canvas. The work demonstrates Mind Shana’s expressionist approach, combining vivid chromatic interpretation with the tenacious stroke characteristic of his practice since taking up painting in 2002.
