Three young athletes in yellow and green sportswear are depicted in dynamic poses, their figures rendered with loose, gestural pastel work. The composition emphasises movement and energy through the players’ raised arms and engaged expressions. The warm ochre and yellow tones dominate the composition, set against softer green accents and neutral background, creating an immediacy that captures a moment of youthful vigour. Motau’s practice of recording moments from life in Johannesburg extends here to the realm of sport and youth engagement.
