Yorkshire/Coffee

A small-scale acrylic work presenting two Yorkshire terriers in characteristic poses, rendered with loose, gestural linework against a warm ochre ground. The composition balances humorous observation with economical draughtsmanship, capturing canine personality through minimal but assured marks. The upper figure appears alert and composed, whilst the lower suggests a moment of discovery or reaction. Groenewald’s playful approach to his favoured feline subject extends here to the broader animal kingdom, demonstrating the artist’s gift for witty visual storytelling through paint.
