Alice in wonderland…This is impossible

A whimsical figure in a tall striped hat and blue coat stands centre stage against a warm orange background, gesturing with open palms in a pose of theatrical declaration. Two diminutive figures and floating cloud forms populate the composition, whilst handwritten text floats above in speech bubbles. The work employs bold acrylic colour and graphic linearity, creating a narrative quality reminiscent of illustration. Groenewald’s characteristic blend of humour and imaginative storytelling extends here beyond his celebrated feline subjects into the realm of fantastical dialogue.
