Very good watch dog

A gnarled tree dominates the composition, its branching limbs adorned with white leaves or feathers that seem to flutter against a deep blue nocturnal sky. The scene combines landscape and animal form in playful tension: a watchful creature emerges from the tree’s structure, rendered in warm browns and oranges. The palette—rich blues, terracottas and creams—creates an otherworldly yet intimate mood. Kuijers’s background in graphic design and illustration informs the print’s distinctive formal language and precise use of colour.
