A white anthropomorphic figure occupies the centre of this vibrant composition, rendered with characteristic simplicity against a densely layered background of gestural marks, geometric forms and vivid hues. The work employs acrylic on canvas to create a dynamic interplay between the figure’s restrained line-work and the exuberant abstraction surrounding it. The palette oscillates between warm and cool tones—pinks, yellows and oranges contrast with blues and purples—generating considerable visual energy. Kuijers brings his long practice as a graphic designer and illustrator to bear in this playful negotiation between figuration and abstraction.
