Love Bird

A stylised owl confronts the viewer with wide, unblinking eyes set within a body rendered in vibrant, layered patterning—purples, pinks, yellows and blues intermingle across the form. Bold black outlines define the bird’s angular features and prominent ear tufts, whilst the composition is anchored by spare, graphically assured linework. Executed in acrylic on glass, the work combines illustrative clarity with painterly texture, bridging Kuijers’ early training in graphic design and his sustained pursuit of full-time artistic practice.
