Landskap

A dramatic landscape rendered in acrylic, dominated by an expansive, turbulent sky in warm ochres and deep oranges that commands the composition. Below, a spare terrain of reds and browns unfolds with geometric precision, punctuated by schematic structures—perhaps a windmill or homestead—rendered in simplified forms. The work balances meticulous linear elements against generous washes of colour and texture, creating an austere, almost dreamlike atmosphere. Glendine’s practice frequently draws upon the desolate beauty of southern African landscapes, combining detailed mark-making with evocative chromatic intensity.
