Katte is min gepla

A large heart form, rendered in vibrant orange, dominates this print’s composition. Within its boundaries, Kuijers has populated the space with an assortment of animals—cats, dogs, birds and other creatures—rendered in black ink with varying degrees of detail and finish. The surrounding cream ground bears gestural marks and sketched elements, creating a sense of visual playfulness. The work balances figuration with an improvisational quality characteristic of the artist’s graphic design background.
