Tulips

A vertical composition depicting purple and mauve tulips in full bloom, their petals rendered with soft, overlapping brushwork that captures both delicate form and generous volume. The flowers rise against a luminous, warm-toned background of pale ochre and cream, with green foliage suggested beneath. The paint handling is fluid and impressionistic, allowing colours to merge and vibrate across the canvas surface, creating an atmosphere of gentle movement and natural light. Neal’s training in Old Masters techniques is evident in the layered, atmospheric approach to this botanical subject.
