Reedy vegetation lines both banks of a narrow waterway, their muted ochres and greens reflected in the still surface below. A luminous golden sun, rendered with precise metallic pigment, breaks the horizon—Paxton’s signature counterpoint to the cool, misty tones dominating the composition. The wet-on-wet technique allows colours to bleed organically, evoking the transient quality of light across water. Mixed medium on canvas allows for this interplay of fluid wash and metallic accent.
