A composition of intertwined figures and forms rendered in mixed media, with gestural marks and layered application creating a sense of movement and narrative ambiguity. Warm ochres and oranges animate the composition against cooler greens and blacks, whilst the paint surface itself becomes part of the work’s visual language. Claerhout’s experimental approach to media and his characteristic exaggerated forms are evident in this later work.
