
Lee Templeton
Lee Templeton is a self taught artist, who was born on the 13 July in Bulawayo Rhodesia (Zimbabwe), a British Commonwealth country at the time. In her late teens she moved with her family to South Africa. Lee began practicing the art of colours and brush techniques, by reproducing some paintings of the European Old Masters. During 2007 Lee sold her outdoor signage manufacturing company to devote her time to develop a career in art. Lee has since progressed to a professional artist and her works are exhibited in selective South African Art Galleries.
In 2018 Lee Templeton was presented the Fresh talent of the Year award by Alice Art Gallery. Lee was awarded artist of the year 2022, by the Centurion Association of Arts, Pretoria. Lee presents three of her paintings annually to three fundraising art auctions: The Goldilocks and the Bear foundation, Kruger National Park K9 Dog Unit and Matla-a-Bana (the voice for the physically abused children)
Although Lee’s subject choice differs from time to time, her contemporary artworks are distinctively recognized by their crisp colours, palette knife application and bold brush strokes. Lee’s style is best described as Contemporary Impressionism. Her works has sold nationally and internationally.
