Landscape

A vertical composition depicting tall pine trees silhouetted against a luminous sky, their distinctive forms rising prominently in the right half of the canvas. A modest dwelling nestles beneath the canopy, whilst the landscape extends into distant hills rendered in soft purples and blues. The artist employs acrylic to build atmospheric depth through layered colour, capturing the interplay of light and shadow. Botha’s landscapes are particularly inspired by the Eastern Free State, where such vistas informed his artistic sensibility from childhood.
