A vertical composition depicting figures in festive dress gathered in celebration. The work employs loose, gestural brushwork across an acrylic surface, with warm tones of yellow, orange and red dominating the upper registers, whilst cooler hues ground the lower portion. The figures are rendered with economy of line, their forms suggested rather than delineated, creating an immediacy of movement and joy. Gericke’s distinctive style, developed through study with influential South African artists, demonstrates his characteristic approach to figurative expression.
