Rache Gerber
Raché was born in Paarl in 1973. She matriculated in Heidelberg, Gauteng in 1991. After matriculating she was chosen to join the SAAWC (South African Army Woman College) in George. Here she did all the graphic designs and artwork for the SAAWC museum. She won first prize in the nature conservation competition for design and painting of their public awareness campaign. While studying to become a teacher and graduating with a diploma in Higher Education from the NKP in Pretoria she illustrated many of the manuals that were written by the lecturers for students. She also designed and painted the décor for the hostel which was showcased in the passages. Although a teacher for many years, she always had a passion for art work and illustrating of children’s books. Raché has illustrated many books, among other eleven children books. She derives from a family of artists and has always being involved with art throughout the years. Art is a God given talent and a blessing. It is in humbleness that she gladly shares it with others.
