ERROL STEPHEN BOYLEY
Born 1918 – Pietermartitzburg, Natal, South Africa
Errol Boyley is mainly self-taught but during the 1940’s he studied art at the Natal Technical College.
During 1940 to 1947 Errol performed as a professional guitar player in various night clubs in South Africa. He joined the Natal Field Artillery during WWII. After the war he moved to Knysna, where he actively painted.
He moved to Johannesburg in 1954 where he painted various Highveld scenes.
Errol established and owned an Art Gallery in Ramsgate, Natal. He has lived and worked throughout South Africa. In 1973 he visited Madagascar and did a selection of scenes from Madagascar, which can be found in private collections.
Errol has had various exhibitions throughout South Africa and his works are well sought after through out the world. Errol’s work is recognized widely in South Africa with many corporations and private collections recognizing his skills and fame.
International visitors are now appreciating Errol’s imagery of Southern Africa with many of his works now hanging in collections as far a field as the U.S.A., Sydney, Singapore, Sweden, U.K., Germany and Italy.
