Tall Chunky vase – Grey/brown

A tall cylindrical vessel of substantial presence, its form defined by vertical striations and organic surface variation. The glass moves through grey and brown tones, with areas of deeper charcoal and lighter khaki, creating an impression of weathered materiality. Within the form, hints of yellow-green luminosity suggest depth and translucence. The composition emphasises the fundamental relationship between form and light that characterises glassblowing, where the material itself becomes the subject of contemplation. Reade’s practice of hand-shaping molten glass from Cape sand yields works of considerable tactile presence.
