Roses

A vase of roses commands the composition, their petals rendered in rich magentas, pinks and reds that radiate outward with gestural brushwork. Cream and white blooms punctuate the arrangement, whilst verdant stems and foliage create a counterpoint to the warm florals. A glass vessel and fallen fruit anchor the lower register. Boonzaaier’s acrylic technique explores the interplay of texture and luminous colour characteristic of her painterly approach.
